About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Advisor to join our team in a temporary full-time capacity for approximately 15 months. As a key support for departmental managers and staff across the City, you will provide expert advice on human resources matters, including recruitment, collective agreement interpretation, attendance, classifications, employee relations, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide sound advice to clients on human resources matters, including recruitment, collective agreement interpretation, and employee relations.
  • Work closely with the Health and Safety team, Labour Relations team, and Organizational Development and Training team to ensure a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to improve HR services and support.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers and staff to provide HR guidance and support on a range of HR-related matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in HR legislation, policies, and best practices to ensure compliance and excellence in HR services.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized or public sector environment.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex HR issues and develop effective solutions.
