Position Overview:
The Quadra Island Medical Clinic, situated on the picturesque Quadra Island, serves as a central point for accessing Primary Care services within the local healthcare network. This clinic is integral to the community, providing essential medical services and support. The Family Practitioner (FP) role is well-established, working collaboratively with a Nurse Practitioner to deliver quality care.
Current Patient Panel:
The FP currently manages a patient panel of approximately 1, with overhead costs negotiated annually at around 25%. The existing FP is available to provide regular sessional and locum coverage as required.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible options for coverage ranging from 3 to 5 days per week.
- No weekend or after-hours responsibilities, as these are managed by local paramedics.
- The clinic operates Monday to Friday, ideally seeking coverage of approximately 7.5 hours per day, with full-time hours available based on the arrangement.
Compensation and Benefits:
Eligible candidates may receive additional remuneration in line with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), which includes:
- Recruitment Incentive (pro-rated) of $10,
- Fee Premium of 9.98%
- Annual Flat Fee of $15,.40
- Rural Continuing Medical Education (CME) of 2,/year for years 3-4 in the community, increasing to a maximum of $4,/year after 4 years
