Role Overview:
The Electrical Supervisor will oversee and manage utility and construction-related projects, primarily focusing on Shermco's engagements with SaskPower. This role involves close collaboration with the Engineer/Project Manager and the Electrical Services Manager, along with site crews and other leadership within the Saskatchewan Operations team. The Supervisor will be instrumental in fostering robust, long-term relationships with SaskPower, aligning with Shermco's strategic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Provide mentorship and direction to crew leaders and site teams, ensuring daily goals are met.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication and feedback.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety, ensuring all staff prioritize safety as a core value.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as site-specific standards.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety through regular field interactions and inspections.

  • Construction Oversight: Direct and supervise work assignments, ensuring adherence to safety practices and project timelines.
  • Coordinate activities with project schedules, adjusting priorities as necessary to meet client requirements.
  • Supervise daily activities of assigned crews, ensuring safety and efficiency in task execution.
  • Attend relevant meetings and collaborate closely with project stakeholders to address site issues and enhance productivity.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Red Seal Interprovincial Electrical Journeyman Ticket
  • 7+ years of industrial experience
  • 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Experience with SaskPower projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction and maintenance practices
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to assess and mitigate safety risks effectively
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements
