Job Summary:

The Shop Foreman will be responsible for coordinating and directing the workload of the Service Department to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity while providing high-quality repair work. The successful candidate will advise and make recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in the appraisal of repair orders coming into the Service Department and review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Direct and assist in the diagnosis of machine problems and inspect and repair all special tools.
  • Recommend new tooling as required and advise the Service Manager of all customer complaints.
  • Coordinate and schedule in-house technician training and assist the Service Manager with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings.
  • Arrange for and participate in the re-conditioning of used equipment and set-up of new equipment.
  • Approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer and assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and lead others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard desktop functions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Heavy Duty Service Technician.
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician preferred.
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Forklift license preferred.
