Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Architect of the CoreSuite for Workers' Compensation development group, the Senior Software Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in supporting Technology and Architecture governance in software development at Sapiens. This position is responsible for spearheading design initiatives for product enhancements and addressing complex architectural software challenges related to insurance solutions. The architect is integral to the CoreSuite implementation and base development teams, promoting the establishment of quality-oriented software engineering best practices across various geographically distributed development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with IT professionals to design, develop, and implement insurance applications.
- Oversee all software-related challenges.
- Develop architectural solutions to software issues.
- Identify and establish development patterns and methodologies.
- Review and evaluate architectures and designs for diverse solutions.
- Assess the feasibility of various software solutions.
- Conduct research on software and prototypes, including tools and technologies.
- Recommend technologies for the product roadmap.
- Design and implement reusable software components.
- Present technical materials to clients.
- Produce work products related to these activities.
- Provide architectural recommendations to senior management.
- Complete tasks as directed by the Chief Architect within established timelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science or MIS) or equivalent educational background.
- Minimum of 4 years of architecture experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of development experience.
- 4+ years of experience in Object-oriented Analysis and Design.
- 4+ years of experience with Java and related environments.
- Strong experience in designing and developing enterprise applications using Java technologies.
- Familiarity with application design, solution modeling, and model-driven development.
- Experience in technical team leadership.
- Proficient in Java technologies, including core Java, JDBC, JMS, JPA, JMX, lambdas, and stream API.
- Knowledge of common Open Source frameworks and tools such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, Eclipse, and Maven.
- Strong understanding of SOA and Web Services technologies (SOAP, REST).
- Hands-on experience with application servers like JBoss/WildFly and Tomcat.
- Proficient in database design concepts and SQL.
- Demonstrated experience in applying software design patterns.
- Knowledge of SDLC, development methodologies, and web-enabled applications.
- Familiarity with User Interfaces and Enterprise Components.
- Experience in client presentations, technical writing, and mentoring.
- Self-motivated with a strong initiative.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in the insurance domain.
- 8+ years of architecture experience preferred.
- 8+ years of development experience preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Object-oriented Analysis and Design preferred.
- 8+ years of experience with Java and related environments preferred.
