Future Energy Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Future Energy Project Engineer to join our team in Western Canada. As a key member of our future energy group, you will be responsible for supporting and contributing to a wide array of future energy projects, including feasibility studies and preliminary engineering work for hydrogen, renewable natural gas, and other clean energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and contribute to future energy projects, including feasibility studies and preliminary engineering work
  • Model and plan for hydrogen hubs, shared infrastructure needs, and large-scale landmark low-carbon fuels integration projects
  • Develop and lead lifecycle carbon intensity assessments and GHG impact evaluations for low-carbon fuels production and decarbonization projects
  • Develop funding applications for low-carbon fuels production and industrial or other decarbonization projects
  • Work with technology vendors and other engineering design teams to develop project cost estimates and evaluate cost-competitiveness of low-carbon fuels facilities
  • Conduct technical innovative evaluations, including literature reviews, vendor engagements, and expert interviews for emerging technologies
  • Support and lead facilitating workshops with clients and stakeholders for strategic planning for projects and hydrogen hubs
  • Prepare technical reports and complete peer reviews for technical reports developed by others
  • Effectively communicate and connect with existing and prospective clients
  • Support industry involvement efforts, including involvement in industry associations and conferences
Requirements:
  • Chemical, process, environmental, or mechanical engineer (other engineering disciplines will be considered with relevant experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate project work to clients and stakeholders
  • Valid class 5 drivers' license with driving record in good standing
  • Willingness and ability for overnight travel and to conduct field work, as required
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and proficiency in GHG and fuel production carbon intensity modeling tools will be seen as an asset for this role
  • Knowledge of low-carbon fuel systems and decarbonization pathways
  • Passion for supporting decarbonization and the advancement of future energy systems
