  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage cash register operations
    • Handle monetary transactions including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards
    • Scan merchandise
    • Calculate total charges for products or services
    • Process payments for goods or services
    • Reconcile daily payments with total sales
    • Engage in suggestive selling
    • Restock shelves and maintain cleanliness of the counter area
    • Welcome customers
    • Take reservations or process take-out orders
    • Assist customers with seat selection in theatres
    • Manage hotel safety-deposit boxes
    • Package merchandise appropriately
    • Weigh bulk foods and produce
    • Deliver exceptional customer service
    • Support customers using self-checkout systems
    • Calculate foreign currency exchanges
    • Monitor entrances and exits, verifying proof of payment when necessary
    • Participate in promotional initiatives
    • Verify customer age for the sale of restricted items such as lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products
