Health Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents and patients with their personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents and patients.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring.
- Monitor and report any changes in a resident's or patient's condition to the Registered Nurse or other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in care planning and implementation, including developing and implementing individualized care plans.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care).
- 1-2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably caring for elderly or disabled clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team setting and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
