Director of Construction

SunGrid Solutions is a leading provider of Battery Energy Storage Solutions. Our team has extensive experience in designing, constructing, and building utility-scale solar and energy storage projects globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support Construction Managers in ensuring the safe and high-quality execution of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Supervise the execution and optimization of pre-construction activities, including resource allocation and field status assessment.
  • Review construction progress reports and provide guidance on quality control and reporting.
  • Interact daily with Construction Managers, SunGrid frontline supervision, subcontractors, and consultants to provide assistance and guidance on deliverables such as scopes of work, capital need assessments, contract documents, and permitting.
  • Ensure safety programs are followed across all projects and assist with change, risk, and quality management.
  • Oversee project timelines and progress from pre-construction to closing and handoff to the field team.
  • Assist with project engineering plan design review, evaluation, and implementation.
  • Facilitate defining scopes of work, construction goals, and stakeholder deliverables for each project.
  • Achieve project objectives and control construction phase risk by applying current performance pros and cons to upcoming projects.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial construction or managing projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate expectations, goals, and concerns to subcontractors and project management team members.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to review and understand multi-trade construction drawings and specifications.

Position requires travel to project site(s).
