Overview
We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking AWS Solutions Architect to enhance our innovative team. In this role, you will be pivotal in crafting, executing, and overseeing highly scalable and resilient cloud solutions tailored for our clientele. Your proficiency will be vital in steering successful cloud migration initiatives and refining existing AWS frameworks.
Location: Calgary, AB (Local candidates are preferred)
Status: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture: Engage with clients and internal teams to comprehend business needs and devise scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures utilizing AWS services and industry best practices. Migration Leadership: Spearhead the transition of on-premises applications and workloads to AWS, ensuring a smooth migration process with minimal impact on business operations. Infrastructure Development: Architect and deploy AWS infrastructure components, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, security groups, IAM roles, and other essential services to fulfill application demands. Application Implementation: Supervise the rollout of applications on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others while guaranteeing high availability and resilience. Security Implementation: Establish robust security protocols, including encryption, access controls, and identity management, to protect data and ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations. Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize AWS environments for peak performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness, utilizing auto-scaling and resource management strategies. Backup and Recovery: Formulate disaster recovery and backup plans to maintain business continuity and data integrity in the event of system failures or outages. Cost Optimization: Offer cost analysis and optimization insights to clients, assisting them in navigating AWS pricing structures and cost-efficient solutions. Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive technical documentation and lead training sessions for internal teams and clients to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure operational efficiency. Continuous Learning: Stay informed about the latest AWS services, trends, and best practices, and proactively suggest new solutions that align with business goals.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience as an AWS Solutions Architect, designing and deploying intricate cloud solutions. Background or specialization in Analytics and Data Engineering, with prior experience in analytics and data-centric projects. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD development, and cloud provisioning. Experience with data, ETL processes, data warehousing, and databases is essential. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional certification is preferred. Proficient in core AWS services, networking, security, and serverless technologies. Practical experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is advantageous. Strong grasp of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines on AWS. Excellent analytical skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.About Adastra
