Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our water resources management team, you will be responsible for leading the design and planning of hydraulic systems for the mining and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and plan the design of hydraulic systems for mining and industrial clients
  • Supervise junior hydraulic engineers and provide guidance on project development
  • Audit field and design teams to ensure compliance with hydraulic regulations
  • Conduct site visits and prepare inspection reports
  • Supervise and conduct hydraulic analysis for dam breaks and water storage facilities
  • Participate in the review of mine tailings design from a hydraulic perspective
  • Supervise and review plans and specifications for hydraulic infrastructure construction
  • Develop business opportunities in collaboration with other business units
  • Promote the discipline of hydrology to internal and external clients
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and mentorship of junior staff
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest hydraulic technologies, standards, and industry practices related to mine tailings and waste rock management
  • Work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrate inclusion and openness in interactions with colleagues and business partners
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
  • Master's degree in Hydrology (Ph.D. is an asset)
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the field
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
  • Familiarity with environmental and hydraulic regulations related to mining
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic calculations and modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, Aquaveo WMS, Goldsim)
  • Experience in supervising teams and managing projects
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Familiarity with project planning and instrumentation protocols
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Ability to travel for short periods for site visits and inspections
