About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Bird Construction Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination
    • Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
    • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management
    • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates to ensure accurate financial planning.
    • Manage budgets and ensure that projects are completed within budget.
  • Staff Supervision
    • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to ensure that projects are completed efficiently.
    • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed to the highest standard.
  • Quality Control and Risk Management
    • Develop and implement quality control programs to ensure that projects are completed to the highest standard.
    • Develop risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare reports to provide updates on project progress and identify areas for improvement.
    • Analyze data and information to inform decision-making and ensure that projects are completed efficiently.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • 5 years or more of experience in a construction management role, preferably in a commercial and/or industrial construction setting.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise staff and subcontractors.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and staff.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
