Role Overview:
As a Procurement Operations Lead within the Amazon Fulfillment Center team, you will oversee the site's indirect procurement functions. This includes responsibilities such as demand forecasting, inventory oversight, purchase order administration, and vendor management for third-party service providers.
You will spearhead supplier performance metrics and reporting, collaborating with stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement and deviation.
Your role will involve providing procurement leadership and aligning with the site leadership team to foster efficiencies and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Procurement Operations Manager to deliver procurement operations support for the fulfillment center, focusing on forecasting non-inventory products, managing inventory, and overseeing supplier relationships.
- Lead a team of non-inventory receivers to ensure the fulfillment center is adequately resourced and positioned for success.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of non-inventory items and collaborate with similar facilities to implement best practices.
- Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess, control, and benchmark procurement processes, including the creation of regular metrics reports to drive operational improvements.
- Establish relationships across the facility and network to ensure effective sharing and implementation of best practices.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, Finance, and Procurement Operations to comprehend budgetary objectives and develop methods for measuring savings and value.
- Utilize insights from the category team to construct a metrics model that tracks and monitors performance in relation to category strategies.
- Evaluate actual versus planned savings; as trends emerge, develop action plans to achieve goals and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with both internal teams and suppliers to devise innovative solutions that enhance procurement support across the operations network.
- Implement and develop measurement systems for suppliers to drive continuous performance enhancement on behalf of Amazon.
- Coordinate the identification of demand, procurement, and inventory management for all non-merchandise items necessary for operational efficiency.
- Partner with the Category team to manage and uphold supplier scorecards.
Work Environment:
This role is conducted in a warehouse setting, requiring frequent movement throughout the facility. Candidates should be comfortable working in environments with fluctuating temperatures due to operational needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables).
- At least 1 year of experience in employee and performance management.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain operations.
- A Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 2 years of experience with Amazon.
- Experience in managing supplier or vendor relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in procurement.
- Familiarity with Coupa or other financial management/procurement software.
