Key Responsibilities- Select and measure pipe materials, cutting and reaming as necessary
- Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment
- Install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler and fire protection equipment
- Join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment
- Select the type and size of pipe required
- Test systems for leaks using testing equipment
- Estimate costs and materials
- Repair and maintain equipment
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Steamfitter and Pipefitter Trade Certification
