Job Title: LTO Grade 1 French Immersion Teacher
Job Summary:
The Durham Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified French Immersion Teacher to fill a Long-Term Occasional (LTO) position for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Grade 1 French Immersion students at one of our Catholic elementary schools.
Responsibilities:
- Teach French Immersion students in a Grade 1 classroom
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver curriculum
- Communicate with parents and guardians through regular progress reports and parent-teacher conferences
Requirements:
- Certification in good standing from the Ontario College of Teachers
- Primary Basic Qualifications French as a Second Language Part 1 Required, with native-like fluency
- Experience teaching French Immersion students in a Catholic elementary school setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
