The Role: Electrical Project Manager & Estimator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Service team as an Electrical Project Manager & Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for various commercial construction projects, as well as residential building retrofit work in common areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate quotations by calculating material, labor, and equipment costs for tender submissions.
  • Thoroughly review tender specifications and drawings to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Manage and evaluate the estimating process to maintain consistency and accuracy.
  • Effectively incorporate scope changes into estimates.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing for inclusion in estimates.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to maximize cost savings and enhance competitiveness during the management process.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather information, clarify specifications, and address any concerns.
  • Participate in bid closing, startup, and wrap-up meetings to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Collaborate closely with the installation team to provide ongoing cost control and project status updates.
  • Lead, organize, and coach a team of workers to install equipment according to electrical drawings.
  • Provide timely progress reports and forecasting trends to the General Manager.
  • Manage a team of Service Technicians and Apprentices to achieve project objectives.
  • Prepare billing materials and information for monthly project invoicing.
  • Process and price change orders for ongoing projects.
  • Work with the site team to develop accurate schedules and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager & Estimator.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
