This role is ideal for those with a strong background in project management and estimation, particularly in the commercial sector. Our company has a rich history of 40 years in the industry, specializing in various electrical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive estimates for a range of commercial construction initiatives, including electrical retrofits and upgrades.
- Analyze tender specifications and drawings to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Oversee the estimating process to maintain compliance and consistency.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
- Implement innovative strategies to optimize cost savings and enhance competitiveness.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to clarify specifications and gather necessary information.
- Participate in project meetings, including bid closures and debriefs post-completion.
- Collaborate with the installation team to monitor project status and control costs.
- Lead and mentor a team of Service Technicians and Apprentices to achieve project goals.
- Prepare monthly billing materials and manage change orders for ongoing projects.
- Develop accurate schedules in coordination with site teams to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Possession of an Electrical Red Seal or FSR Certificate.
- A diploma in Project or Construction Management is advantageous.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Manager/Estimator in electrical projects.
- Proficient in construction estimating and industry standards.
- Familiarity with engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience in scheduling, cost control, and contract management.
- Highly motivated with a capacity to work with minimal supervision.
