Job Title: Education Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant to join our team at St. Augustine Elementary School in Vancouver, BC.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide support to students with diverse needs, working collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other education staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with special education needs, including those with autism, behavioral challenges, and physical disabilities
  • Assist with lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as data collection and recording
  • Provide personal care and support as required, including toileting and other daily living tasks
  • Interact with students in a professional and effective manner, promoting positive relationships and behaviors
  • Participate in school-based team meetings and IEP meetings as required
Requirements:
  • Special Education and/or Education Assistant certification/diploma
  • Training and experience with personal care needs, ASD, CPI, and behavior management
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other education staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
