About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering student to join our team at the IKO Brampton production facility. As a Plant Engineering Co-op student, you will work closely with the Plant Engineer and the team to complete various plant tasks and improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Plant Engineer to complete plant tasks and improvement projects.
  • Interact with vendors to obtain quotations and source services and parts, including coordinating on-site visits and reviewing work scope.
  • Design mechanical solutions to problems using 2D software.
  • Assist with general administration tasks, such as organizing documents and issuing purchase requisitions.
  • Promote a safe culture through example and participate in hazard identification and safety audit activities.
  • Perform other duties as required to support new and ongoing projects within the plant engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • 1st to 4th year Mechanical Engineering student or 2nd/3rd year Mechanical Engineering Technology student.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with vendors and plant personnel.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design using AutoCad software.
  • Strong eagerness to learn and a curious mind.
