Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Specialist to join our Account Processing team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support for our deposit products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Account Processing Team as a Subject Matter Expert on all deposit products, providing training and support to internal and external clients.
  • Daily completion of Remote Deposit Capture, Tangerine cheque clearing, cheque verification, entering data, and client/account investigation.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, achieve department and individual goals, and build positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Provide information on the guidelines and procedures of the Client Business Support Department.
  • Commit to proactive and ongoing improvement of skills and the continued acquisition of knowledge.
  • Contribute to the ongoing process improvements in the Client Business Support Department.
  • Handle inbound calls, emails, and tickets from internal and external customers, which may include account research and resolution of product questions or issues.
  • Participate in team meetings, plan and achieve department and individual goals, and build positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure procedures are current and documented.
  • Participate and contribute on cross-functional committees as assigned.
  • Communicate regularly with internal clients, team members, and management.
  • Ensure timely printing and delivery of outgoing Bank drafts into proper mail/courier streams.
  • Distribute mail to all floors of the building and collect outgoing mail at distribution points.
  • Maintain adequate stock of office supplies and order as needed.

Requirements

  • University or College Degree is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of related work experience, preferably in the banking industry.
  • Call centre experience is an asset.
  • Solid understanding of the life cycle of all Deposit and Chequing products, including Garnishments.
  • CPA knowledge is an asset.
  • Experience within the paralegal / back-office experience is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is required.
  • Knowledge of Visio processing mapping.
  • Proficiency in PC software – MS Office Suite.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
