Position: Building IoT and Data Engineering Specialist
Location: Toronto, ON

Reports To: Glen Myrland – Director, Building Technology & Data Analytics
Role Description
The Building IoT and Data Engineering Specialist is a key role in creating value from the significant amounts of data our buildings produce, and delivering on the value proposition that optimizing the use of our data lowers our costs and increases our financial returns. Responsibilities of this role include deploying technology in the built environment (including IoT sensors & building systems, connectivity platforms, and data management / analytical tools) and communicating and collaborating with internal stakeholders, as well as the management of external parties and vendors.
We're seeking someone who is motivated, curious, and detail-oriented – with a passion to drive innovation and the creation of the most intelligent built environments in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment of IoT technologies and pilots & PoC's for buildings across the QuadReal portfolio.
- Lead and support Operational Technology (OT) data analytics initiatives, data management, and the implementation of data-driven use-cases across the QuadReal built-environments.
Requirements
- Minimum undergraduate degree in a relevant technical field.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience with wireless IoT technologies.
- 5+ years of analytical experience (SQL, Python, or similar).
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical thinking skills and tools.
