Family Worker Opportunity

The Canadian Mental Health Association Toronto Branch is seeking a Family Worker to join our team. As a Family Worker, you will play a vital role in providing education, support, and advocacy to families affected by mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide education and support to families to enhance their skills and abilities to navigate the mental health system
  • Collaborate with internal programs to deliver family-centered care and develop innovative groups and workshops
  • Develop and implement service plans, conduct follow-ups, and complete required documentation
  • Work with diverse communities, addressing safety from a recovery-oriented and family-centered lens

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in social services or related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in community mental health, including experience providing support to families and working within a mental health recovery model
  • Experience in group development and facilitation, with knowledge of DBT, CBT, or EFFT an asset
  • Strong advocacy skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
