THE ROLE:

JOIN A DYNAMIC TEAM, The Maintenance Manager will oversee all engineering and maintenance functions, ensuring that the property, grounds, mechanical systems, guest accommodations, and utilities are maintained to the highest standards. This role includes managing the maintenance budget, implementing preventative maintenance strategies, and promoting energy efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Maintenance Manager's responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and supporting maintenance staff and contractors in the upkeep and repair of plumbing, guest rooms, HVAC systems, lighting, kitchen equipment, and more.
  • Ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of all maintenance tasks in accordance with established specifications.
  • Procuring necessary materials and tools while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for the hotel.
  • Documenting and managing equipment and guest room preventative maintenance records.
  • Upholding safety standards for the department and the facility.
  • Responding promptly to guest requests with a friendly demeanor and following up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Communicating company policies and procedures effectively to team members.
  • Actively recruiting and developing department staff in line with company hiring standards.
  • Conducting safety drills and training sessions on departmental procedures and service expectations.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and local regulations, including health and safety standards.
  • Completing all required fire and safety inspections and addressing any identified issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive maintenance experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and personnel management skills.
  • Ability to think quickly and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in various computer software applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Capability to manage staff and achieve financial objectives.
  • Guest-focused with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude in a busy environment.
