Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct infrastructure priority assessments and needs analysis.
- Oversee the planning, development, and management of infrastructure maintenance and capital programs.
- Supervise a team of Transportation Infrastructure Analysts and students.
- Manage contracts with engineering consultants for various infrastructure projects.
- Prepare reports for the Planning and Works Committee and recommend consultant approvals.
- Provide technical guidance to staff regarding infrastructure improvement requirements.
- Develop and oversee strategic project work plans, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Ensure project milestones are met within the allocated budget and timeline.
- Collaborate with team members on infrastructure inventory collection and condition assessments.
- Prepare project definition reports and oversee design processes.
- Chair project teams to establish inspection priorities for capital projects.
- Participate in departmental committees and provide technical recommendations.
- Prepare budget estimates and recommend projects for the annual capital program.
- Negotiate project requirements and manage communications with various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
A degree or diploma in a related field (e.g., civil engineering) with progressively responsible experience in project management is required. Candidates should possess knowledge of engineering principles, infrastructure management systems, and relevant legislation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential for developing objectives and coordinating projects effectively. Proficiency in software applications such as Oracle, Microsoft Office, and GIS is also necessary.
