About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Challenger Motor Freight Inc. as a key member of our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive procurement strategies that align with the company's cost reduction objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee procurement strategies that meet the company's requirements.
- Manage the procurement process, including requests for proposals, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to optimize procurement requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with key suppliers, vendors, and contractors.
- Review and analyze existing contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility and alignment with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance procurement efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on sourcing and purchasing processes.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement management.
- Prior experience in a large distribution company is an asset.
- Diploma or certification in finance, business, or accounting is required.
- SCMP designation is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
