About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments and monitoring, providing occupational hygiene support to clients, and working under the supervision of experienced technicians and project managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site assessments for asbestos, mold, lead, PCB's, and other hazardous materials
  • Collect and analyze samples, and prepare reports
  • Provide technical support and services, including preparing and calibrating sampling equipment, identifying site issues, and recommending corrective actions
  • Work on a wide variety of assignments, scope of work, and complexity
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to ensure health, safety, and occupational hygiene needs are addressed
Requirements
  • Occupational Hygiene technician certificate, diploma, or equivalent education
  • Eligible for membership in a professional organization (asset)
  • Experience in Occupational Hygiene, hazardous material assessments, and working with hazardous materials abatement contractors (asset)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with no restrictions and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and work in a variety of environmental conditions
