Position Overview

The Phone Place is seeking a dedicated Retail Cashier to manage transactions and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transaction Management: Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately.
  • Payment Processing: Handle cash, checks, and credit/debit card transactions.
  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
  • Inventory Support: Stock shelves and maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  • Sales Support: Engage in suggestive selling to enhance customer experience.
  • Product Handling: Weigh and package items as needed.
  • Security Monitoring: Oversee store entrances and exits, ensuring proof of payment when necessary.
  • Age Verification: Confirm customer age for restricted items.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced setting, where you will need to manage multiple tasks under pressure. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, as well as bending and lifting.

Qualifications
  • Education: No formal education required.
  • Experience: Training will be provided; prior experience is an asset.
  • Personal Attributes: Must be reliable, flexible, and a team player with strong communication skills.
Work Conditions

Expect a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to handle heavy loads. You will be working approximately 35 to 40 hours per week.
