Pathology Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Director and the Eastern Zone Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Director/Lab Services Medical Lead to facilitate the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Department.
The Manager will be accountable for the effective operation of assigned areas of responsibility, working in a co-leadership relationship with the Eastern Zone PLM Medical Director/Lab Services Medical Lead. The ideal candidate will possess sound professional judgment and initiative, with the ability to work within the Mission, Vision, Policies, Procedures and Strategic Directives of the organization.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in Medical Laboratory Technology, supplemented by additional formal management and/or leadership training. A Master's Degree in a health-related discipline would be considered an asset. The candidate will also have a minimum of five years' recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience, with experience in a unionized environment being considered an asset.
The Manager will be responsible for leading change, staff and program development, and evaluation. They will also have experience with LEAN workflow analysis and review, as well as Failure Mode Effects and Analysis review. The ideal candidate will possess advanced communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Requirements- Graduate of an approved program in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Minimum five years' recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience
- Experience in a unionized environment
- Progressive leadership and/or management experience
- Experience with LEAN workflow analysis and review
- Experience with Failure Mode Effects and Analysis review
