Your role

We invite you to join our team as a Lead Project Coordinator within our Northern Canada division.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with clients to offer strategic guidance and have the fulfilling opportunity to drive significant change through initiatives that improve access to housing, clean water, education, emergency management recovery, and community infrastructure. Our team is dedicated to enhancing outcomes in the communities we serve while promoting reconciliation, economic engagement, climate resilience, and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with clients during the initial conceptual phases of project initiation to ensure a strategic framework for project planning, establishment, and execution.
  2. Serve as a trusted consultant to clients, leveraging your expertise in planning, procurement, design, and construction of infrastructure.
  3. Clients will value your capability to advocate for their best interests concerning contractual and technical matters.
  4. Project teams will depend on your skills to manage change, facilitate communication, coordinate among diverse stakeholders, resolve challenges, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  5. Exhibit strong financial and business insight.
  6. Identify and escalate commercial, financial, or human resource challenges to the Account Manager, Team Lead, or Principal.
  7. Oversee programs of work and large-scale capital projects with varying scopes and complexities.
  8. Delegate and supervise the execution of multi-disciplinary projects and the performance of project teams.
  9. Cultivate strong relationships with current and prospective clients and respond to new business opportunities with support from the Business Development Team, Principal, or Regional Vice President.
  10. Spearhead the implementation of training and tools to enhance service delivery.
  11. Drive business development and account management initiatives in the north while fostering a culture of quality.

Qualifications:

  1. A university degree in a relevant field such as engineering, architecture, project management, or construction management.
  2. 5 to 10 years of experience managing project management assignments of varying sizes and complexities, involving multiple stakeholders (or a related combination of academic and practical experience).
  3. In-depth knowledge of construction practices, project management frameworks, financial oversight, as well as applicable codes, contract law, and regulations.
  4. A robust written and verbal communication skill set, including strong presentation, stakeholder engagement, and report writing abilities.
  5. Exceptional relationship-building and collaboration skills to engage with clients, colleagues, and external industry experts.
  6. Experience working in northern regions, fostering long-term client relationships, and collaborating with local governments and First Nations is a significant advantage.
  7. Proven experience in securing new business, winning key projects, and mentoring junior staff.
  8. Leadership and organizational capabilities with a demonstrated ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project, personnel, and technical issues.
  9. A demonstrated ambition and capability to develop and expand new business lines.
  10. Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality standards.
  11. Professional industry credentials such as PMP, P.Eng., CET, RA, or other similar designations are considered a strong asset.
  12. Proficiency in MS Project, MS Word, and MS Excel.

We recognize that not every candidate will meet every qualification. At Colliers Project Leaders, we value diversity and inclusivity in our workplace. If you are enthusiastic about this opportunity but do not possess every single qualification, we encourage you to apply. Whether for this role or another, you may be the ideal candidate.

What you can expect:

  1. An opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our communities.
  2. A flexible working environment.
  3. A thorough onboarding experience.
  4. Significant opportunities for professional development, training, and mentorship.
  5. A paid volunteer day.
  6. An inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of their differences.
  7. And much more.

Join our team of change-makers and contribute to the development of vibrant communities.
