Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bus Driver to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, while ensuring a positive and respectful experience for all passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate school buses in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage passenger behavior and respond to incidents in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as washing and sanitizing the bus, and reporting any issues to the Transportation Manager.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings to stay up-to-date on district policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 2 BC Driver's License, including air ticket, and three years accident/violation free driving record.
  • First Aid Level 1 certification.
  • Proven ability to use Microsoft Office programs and internet-based applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring a high level of physical and mental stamina. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to changing weather conditions and varying levels of passenger behavior.
