Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Supervisor to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our bus fleet, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of our transportation staff, including mechanics and dispatchers.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to ensure our buses are in good working condition.
  • Coordinate the training and development of our bus drivers, including new driver training and refresher courses.
  • Manage the ordering and inventory of bus parts and materials.
  • Prepare and submit reports on transportation operations, including daily, monthly, and annual reports.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, supplemented by a current British Columbia or Interprovincial Trade Qualification - Commercial Transport or Vehicle Technician with a Commercial Air Brakes for Mechanics.
  • A minimum of 5 years' recent and related experience, including 2 years' recent supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of a Supervisory Skills credit course.
  • A valid Class 2 BC driver's license with air brakes certification.
