About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Experimental Physicist to join our Processor Development team at D-Wave Systems inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing superconducting devices and quantum processors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Characterize, understand, and reduce noise in superconducting circuits
  • Model, assess, and improve real-world performance of our quantum processors
  • Characterize and calibrate our superconducting quantum processors
  • Design and develop novel devices and/or device enhancements to improve processor performance or enable new capabilities
  • Assess and understand the impact of the processor's environment, including packaging, IO, electronics, and cryogenic elements, and develop models and approaches to improve it
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent in physics or a related discipline
  • Strong critical thinking and technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience in independent research and a deep understanding in your area of expertise
  • Ability to come up to speed in new technical topics quickly and effectively
  • Strong software development experience related to experimental design and automation, data acquisition, and data analysis
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills and experience with summarizing experimental results for a broad audience
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in our Annual Incentive Plan (Bonus plan), equity grants and programs, PTO, and a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, STD, LTD, and Travel Insurance.
