Career Opportunity:

Become a vital member of the Maple Leaf Foods team, where you will take charge of developing and overseeing the Occupational Health & Safety initiatives for our facilities. Your primary focus will be to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, create effective work procedures, provide training, manage claims, and mitigate risks to establish a premier safety culture. You will be instrumental in all Health & Safety operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute Safe Work Procedures to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Implement safety programs and policies through regular team engagements
  • Track and maintain Occupational Health and Safety metrics and documentation
  • Design and conduct training sessions
  • Assist in minimizing health and safety risks
  • Support Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews
  • Oversee contractor health and safety programs
  • Provide support during accident responses and investigations
  • Engage in emergency management initiatives
  • Maintain software systems and records for all safety programs
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in Health & Safety positions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory training
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies is advantageous
  • Familiarity with WSIB claims management is beneficial
