About the Role

The Physiotherapy Resident will work under the guidance of the Rehabilitation Services Manager, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients experiencing physical impairments, pain, or functional limitations. This role is essential in a tertiary care environment, where comprehensive evaluations are conducted to establish a physical diagnosis through detailed medical histories and standardized testing.

In this position, the Physiotherapy Resident will design holistic treatment plans that incorporate a variety of therapeutic techniques, including exercise, education, and various modalities such as manual therapy and hydrotherapy, aimed at helping patients achieve and maintain optimal functional levels.

Collaboration and Communication

The Physiotherapy Resident will engage with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication with other healthcare professionals, patients, and their families regarding health promotion and physiotherapy interventions. Participation in team meetings to set goals and evaluate effectiveness is a key component of this role.

Qualifications

We invite applications from candidates who possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or entry-level Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution
  • Registration with the provincial licensing body for Physiotherapists
  • Proficiency in computer applications including statistical input and word processing
  • Current certification in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (BCLS)
  • Completion of WHMIS training
  • Additional training in specialized areas such as manual therapy, stroke rehabilitation, or balance training is advantageous
  • Competency in additional languages is a plus, with French being preferred

Work Schedule

  • This is a full-time position with a commitment of 75 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits
