WSP Global Inc. is actively seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to become a vital part of our Resources division. This role, reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, involves spearheading and managing the mechanical engineering initiatives for our expanding Resources team.

As a key member of the Resources team, you will engage in both new construction and redevelopment projects. Our team delivers exceptional services to clients in sectors such as mining, industrial, manufacturing, institutional, and governmental organizations. You will leverage your mechanical engineering expertise throughout various project phases, from initial design concepts to final project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to WSP project protocols across all assignments.
  • Provide expert guidance in the design and execution of intricate engineering projects within the mechanical discipline.
  • Lead the mechanical team to foster effective development and performance.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and prepare technical documentation.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and cost management in alignment with project objectives.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with design codes and regulations.
  • Define project scopes and oversee the mechanical department's workflow.
  • Supervise a team engaged in the conception, planning, and execution of engineering designs and proposals.
  • Guide projects to completion while adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Assist in negotiating critical engineering challenges.
  • Implement and uphold design standards and procedures.
  • Delegate and review tasks assigned to junior engineering staff.
  • Establish project work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Monitor and manage project scope changes in collaboration with clients.
  • Work collaboratively with various disciplines to assess the impact of changes on cost and schedule.
  • Establish foundational design criteria in consultation with clients.
  • Promote compliance with corporate and client procedures.
  • Engage effectively with all organizational levels.

What You Bring:

  • 10-20 years of experience in a consulting environment, particularly with Mining and/or Industrial clients.
  • Experience in people management and mentorship.
  • Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Eligibility for membership in APEGS as a professional engineer in Saskatchewan.
  • Familiarity with CSA, ANSI, ASME standards, and other relevant codes.
  • Ability to visit industrial sites while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Experience in mills, smelters, mines, industrial sites, infrastructure, refineries, ports, and material handling is advantageous.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a collaborative project environment.
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
