About this Role

We are seeking an innovative, data-driven, results-oriented engineer to contribute to our continued legacy of innovation.

This position is responsible for the complete design of energy management and control systems for commercial and institutional buildings, ensuring the safety and comfort of building occupants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project documentation to create control drawings as per customer design standards;
  • Identify equipment compatibility issues and design discrepancies;
  • Communicate issues with design of equipment shop-drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications;
  • Select materials to meet project requirements, specifications, codes, and customer standards;
  • Write sequence of operations based on HVAC principles;
  • Coordinate design requirements with the Project Manager and field team;
  • Complete assigned projects focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance;
  • Identify budget variances and manage material procurement;
  • Assist the sales team in pre-bid meetings and evaluation of tender drawings;
  • Propose energy-saving opportunities to the client;
  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with clients and contractors on technical issues;
  • Develop commissioning checklists for the field team;
  • Issue Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals for supplied systems, equipment, and devices.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or a College Diploma in Building Automation Systems, Electrical, Controls and Automation, or HVAC;
  • 1+ years experience with HVAC and/or BAS protocols: BACnet/MSTP, BACnet/IP, Modbus;
  • 1+ years experience with networking infrastructure;
  • 1+ years experience with DDC systems and applications;
  • 1+ years experience with CAD Tools, preferably with Visio or similar CAD tools;
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft Suite at a proficient level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Programming experience in Build Automation System is an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
