The Record to Report (R2R) team plays a pivotal role in managing fixed assets, lease accounting, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations, including tax registrations and reporting for various tax types. This team of experts oversees all accounting functions from data management to comprehensive reporting, driving resolution of issues and providing specialized knowledge in their areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing period-end closing, asset depreciation, valuations, reconciliations, and balance sheet preparations.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and tax regulations.
  • Managing direct and indirect tax accounting and reporting for Mexico.
  • Preparing statutory financial statements and reports.
  • Coordinating reporting obligations to regulatory authorities.
  • Administering fixed assets and investment project data management.
  • Handling lease accounting and validation of leased assets.

We seek experienced financial professionals with strong collaborative skills, capable of identifying critical issues and fostering a positive work environment as a Senior Financial Accountant, Statutory Compliance. This role supports North American operations, particularly focusing on Mexico.

Expectations:

In this capacity, you will be tasked with:

  • Providing guidance and expertise in accounting principles to accountants, controllers, and stakeholders to support operations in Mexico.
  • Managing tax-related activities, including registrations, declarations, and reporting for various tax types.
  • Executing accounting tasks to meet reporting standards, accounting principles (IFRS), and local regulations.
  • Conducting account reconciliations, validating financial data, and generating financial reports for North America.
  • Identifying requirements and gaps in processes and effectively managing change.
  • Facilitating interim solutions during transition periods within your area of responsibility.
  • Collaborating closely with Business Finance and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, with at least 2 years in a senior accountant role.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or a recognized accounting qualification.
  • Self-driven with a commitment to meeting deadlines and collaborating across teams to drive results.
  • Ability to pinpoint critical issues and process challenges as they arise.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with proficiency in French being a plus.
  • Strong documentation and presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a positive and motivating atmosphere.
