Senior Financial Accountant Job Description

Averna Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality financial information and contributing to the evolution of our processes and controls to support the growth of the Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and reconcile financial transactions for the Canadian, US, and Mexican entities applying ASPE standards.
  • Reconcile and analyze P&L accounts relating to financial accounting.
  • Lead inventory tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Participate in payroll entries and reconciliation of the payroll accounts of the North American entities bi-monthly.
  • Support the Assistant Corporate Controller with the monthly consolidation process.
  • Participate in the analysis and investigation of the subsidiaries' unusual transactions.
  • Participate in the analysis and documentation of complex accounting transactions.
  • Participate in the optimization and improvement of the accounting function.
  • Documentation and standardization of accounting policies.
  • Month-end process and control improvements.
  • Support the treasury function.
  • Prepare the year-end audit requests and support the audit processes.
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
  • Support any ad-hoc project request.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Accounting certification CPA or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of financial accounting experience in a multinational environment, with multi-currency and intercompany transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, or ASPE.
  • Experience in consolidation, an asset.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, an asset.
  • Experience using an ERP, D365 is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Bilingual - Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written, Spanish an asset.
