Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and physical support to individuals with complex needs, promoting a sense of security and well-being.
  • Develop and implement engaging activity plans that encourage participation and promote social skills.
  • Collaborate with clinical professionals and unit managers to share insights and contribute to treatment plans and goal setting.
  • Teach essential life skills, such as self-care, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and building positive social connections.
  • Resolve conflicts with empathy and use behavior management strategies to guide participants through challenges.
  • Complete documentation and reports with accuracy and clarity, ensuring all agency standards are met.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Care (CYC) or a related field is an asset.
  • At least one year of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, or developmental challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build genuine connections with participants and colleagues.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and model positive behaviors for those you support.
  • Flexibility to work in a shift work environment, with the ability to adapt to new situations and challenges.
