At Oxford Learning, we focus on teaching students effective learning strategies in a supportive environment. Our small class sizes, with a maximum of three students per instructor, ensure personalized attention. All lesson plans and curriculum materials are provided, allowing you to focus solely on teaching.

Position Requirements

All educators at Oxford Learning work during after-school hours and evenings, with some weekend availability. A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities for summer engagement as well. Candidates should have a strong command of both spoken and written French and English, with the ability to teach up to Grade 9, and preferably up to Grade 12. Instruction will be conducted primarily in French.

This position requires in-person attendance. Candidates must be able to travel to the designated location. A vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage applications from individuals who meet the following criteria:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with substantial tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is an asset
  • Familiarity with the current French core curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 12

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring French at the Kindergarten to Grade 12 level (or equivalent)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient in French with the ability to facilitate student comprehension
  • Ability to manage multiple students effectively

Key Responsibilities:

As an Interactive Coach, you will engage directly with students, fulfilling the following duties:

  • Conducting class sessions in French
  • Instructing up to three students simultaneously at varying proficiency levels
  • Adhering to the methodologies and philosophies of Oxford Learning
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $16 - $19 per hour

Schedule:

  • Evenings
  • Monday to Friday
  • Availability on Saturdays
