About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at SHARP EDGE DRYWALL LTD. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Lead a Team: Oversee and direct a team of drywall installers to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Apply and Install Drywall: Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a smooth surface for painting or finishing.
  • Prepare Surfaces: Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation, including cutting and fitting drywall sheets to size.
  • Install Metal Corner Beads: Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a smooth finish.
  • Fill Joints and Holes: Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure and Cut Drywall: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Mix Plaster Ingredients: Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency to create a smooth finish.
  • Install Ornamental Plaster Panels: Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a decorative touch.
  • Smooth Out Excess Compound: Smooth out excess compound and allow the coat to dry to create a smooth finish.
  • Attach Metal or Gypsum Lath: Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring to create a stable surface for drywall installation.
  • Install Steel Stud Framing: Install exterior and interior steel studs, as well as metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings.
  • Prepare Wall and Ceiling Layouts: Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate installation of drywall.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate costs and materials required for drywall installation projects.
  • Erect and Install Scaffolding: Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms to ensure safe access to work areas.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installation of drywall.

  • Physically Demanding: This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Repetitive Tasks: The role involves repetitive tasks, including measuring, cutting, and installing drywall.
