About the Role

Oxford County Renovations Ltd is seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles in residential and commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, ensuring they are clean, dry, and free of debris.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, mortars, and grouts to achieve a strong and durable bond.
  • Set tiles in place, using a combination of hand tools and power equipment.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles, using a variety of cutting tools and techniques.
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a precise and professional finish.
  • Install tile strips and borders to create a seamless and visually appealing design.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, using a combination of hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets to support tile installations.
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite tiles to achieve a high-gloss finish.
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces to create a durable and low-maintenance finish.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Stand for long periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling to install tiles.
  • Work at heights, using ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment to access tile installations.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.
Requirements
  • 1-7 months of experience in tile setting, installation, or a related field.
  • Permanent employment, with a regular schedule of 35-40 hours per week.
  • English language proficiency, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
