We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT). The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and administering quality adult programs and services for First Nations learners, promoting SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the Indigenous Practical Nursing (IPN) program across SIIT locations and First Nation communities.
- Develop and implement program plans, budgets, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with CLPNS regulations.
- Recruit, manage, and support instructors and students, facilitating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Coordinate clinical placements, monitoring student progress and outcomes, and making recommendations for course content adjustments.
- Collaborate with Bands, Tribal Councils, and other agencies to strengthen linkages between SIIT and First Nations communities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders, including industry partners, funding institutions, and other institutes.
- Ensure resources are allocated effectively, managing budgets and authorizing purchases and expenses.
- Lead and develop employees, promoting growth and development, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Build and maintain relationships with students, implementing effective retention strategies and monitoring attendance and disciplinary actions.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing with active/practicing Registered Nurse (RN) status.
- Minimum 5 years' clinical practice experience in medical-surgical, pediatrics/labor and delivery, and/or long term care/residential settings.
- Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations is an asset.
- Experience working in post-secondary education is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for travel.
