At PHSA, we are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Physician to join our team as a Medical Lead for Respiratory Surveillance and Vaccine Preventable Disease Control. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals who are dedicated to preventing and controlling communicable diseases and promoting environmental health for the province of BC.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of respiratory surveillance and vaccine preventable disease control programs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and community partners to identify and address public health issues related to communicable diseases.
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases, including vaccine preventable diseases.
- Provide medical consultation and advice to healthcare professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders on communicable disease control and prevention.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform public health policy and program development.
- Develop and implement educational programs and materials to promote public health awareness and understanding of communicable diseases.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized university.
- Postgraduate degree in Epidemiology or Public Health.
- Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Community Medicine or Internal Medicine or Pediatrics with Infectious Disease training.
- Registration or eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, statistical and analytical software.
- Proficiency in clinical medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in interdisciplinary teams.
