Key Responsibilities for the Nurse Practitioner at VCH:
- Perform thorough patient evaluations and establish diagnoses
- Initiate treatment plans, oversee healthcare, and prescribe necessary medications
- Offer professional advice and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Recognize trends that may affect clients, families, and communities
- Design and execute strategies aimed at health enhancement
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to policy development
- Assess services and outcomes across various levels
- Take charge of professional growth and skill maintenance
- Report directly to the Operational Director of Professional Practice
- Experience with diverse populations is considered beneficial
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Valid Nurse Practitioner registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP)
- A minimum of 4 years of recent clinical nursing experience
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is required
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in executing the full spectrum of Nurse Practitioner duties
- Effective communication skills with patients and their families
- Leadership capabilities, along with expertise in population health and evidence-based practices
- Physically able to perform job responsibilities
