Financial Accountant - Pathfind
Salary Range: $60,000 to $80,000

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate for this position will be part of a dedicated team delivering financial services, analysis, and support across multiple locations. The Accountant will play a crucial role in the accounting department by preparing and maintaining various financial reports and ledger reconciliations with meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily accounting transactions and journal entries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany, and inventory
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for both Canadian and US accounts
  • Engage in various monthly accounting cycle activities and reporting
  • Perform variance and margin analysis
  • Resolve financial discrepancies by gathering and analyzing account information
  • Prepare and submit provincial and federal government reports and tax filings
  • Assist with customer invoicing as necessary
  • Provide accounts payable support and process online payments as required
  • Offer backup support for Payroll/Benefits Administrator in the region
  • Participate in the preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Aid in the compilation of year-end audit reports
  • Support and engage in cross-training to ensure coverage for other roles within the finance team as needed
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and contribute ideas to enhance current processes for greater efficiency

Working Conditions:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, or accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Preference for candidates who have completed or are pursuing their CPA designation
  • Proficient in Google Workspace applications and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with aSa/Sage MAS 500 and Ceridian Dayforce software is advantageous
  • Familiarity with multiple legal entities under different legal structures is a plus
  • Preference for candidates with experience in the construction, manufacturing, or steel fabrication sectors
