Job Summary:

School District No. 20 (Kootenay-Columbia) is seeking reliable and experienced custodians to join our team on a casual basis. As a custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of schools, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Perform tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals

Requirements:

  • Building Service Worker Course Certificate or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a custodian or building service worker in a commercial or industrial setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting

Compensation and Benefits:

Rate of pay: $32.68/hr, including a premium of $0.35 for afternoon shifts

Hours of work: Afternoon shift - between 2:00 pm and 11:00 pm, Day shift - between 6:00 am and 2:30 pm
