Job Title: Outdoor Education Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Educator to join our team at the Ontario Camps Association. As an Outdoor Education Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs for students, focusing on environmental education and outdoor skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement engaging educational programs for students, including hands-on activities and interactive experiments.
  • Develop and lead programs focused on environmental education, outdoor skills, and nature-based learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to customize programs that align with classroom curricula.
  • Plan and facilitate outdoor education experiences for visiting school groups, including guided nature walks and ecological activities.
  • Organize and lead confirmation retreats, providing spiritual guidance and outdoor activities for participants.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and group management skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to property maintenance and outdoor activities.
  • Passion for nature, environmental stewardship, and working with children and youth.
Working Conditions:
  • The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials required for educational programs and maintenance tasks.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate school group schedules and retreat activities.
