About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated ECE Assistant to join our team at Guide and Grow Daycare Centre Inc. As an ECE Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre and contributing to the development of our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Childcare and Education
    • Assist early childhood educators in planning and implementing child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
    • Develop and implement activities that support the development of children, including storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
    • Encourage children to express their creativity through various media, such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Childcare Centre Operations
    • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, including preparing snacks and arranging rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
    • Assist in keeping records and submitting written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Security and Safety
    • Ensure that all children are accounted for at all times and that the childcare centre is secure.
    • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, including adhering to basic security clearance and criminal record check requirements.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and physically demanding activities.
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a childcare setting.
  • Security Clearance
    • Basic security clearance and criminal record check required.
