Position Overview:
The role of the FLES Supervisor is pivotal in steering the operational success of Food, Linen, and Environmental Services. This position entails overseeing site-level operations, ensuring alignment with Alberta Health Services (AHS) priorities, and fostering a collaborative environment among frontline staff.
Key Responsibilities:
The Supervisor will be accountable for:
- Leadership and Human Resource Management: Directly managing frontline employees to ensure service excellence and a positive workplace culture.
- Communication: Engaging effectively with staff and stakeholders to maintain operational transparency.
- Compliance: Ensuring adherence to industry guidelines, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Site Administration Liaison: Acting as the primary contact for site administration and patient care regarding FLES matters.
- Quality Improvement: Participating in and promoting initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and workplace safety.
- Safety Oversight: Monitoring and enforcing safe work practices and conditions.
- Financial Management: Analyzing and managing supply, food, and labor costs to meet financial objectives.
Operational Scope:
The FLES Supervisor may oversee multiple sites, requiring flexibility in travel and scheduling. The role primarily involves providing support during standard business hours, with potential adjustments for urgent matters.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Nutrition, Business, or Food Service Management, along with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role. Proficiency in computer applications and the ability to work autonomously are essential.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in healthcare settings and familiarity with unionized environments are advantageous. Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control, as well as Food Safety Guidelines, is preferred.
